What You Will Do

The Procurement Engineering team under the Operational Readiness Implementation (ORI-3) Group is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Production Control Specialist 2. The selected candidate will compliantly perform tasks related to office engineering and materials management in support of multiple concurrent maintenance, and equipment installation/construction projects.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Functionality

Demonstrated ability to comply with industry practices, policies, and procedures specifically relating to engineering, procurement, and quality. Demonstrated perform tasks related to office engineering and materials management in support of multiple equipment maintenance and installation/construction projects. Assist in monitoring a Consolidated Bill of Materials (CBOMs) tracking database throughout the lifecycle of a project or maintenance activity. Ability to attend Integrated Project Team meetings and assists procurement engineers with providing status on material, submittals, and other outstanding issues.

Computing/Business Systems

Demonstrated above average computer skills and demonstrated proficient experience with Inventory Control, Material Tracking, and proficiency using various software applications including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

Customer Service

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes-stressful situations is expected. Experience interacting professionally with all level of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management is also expected.

Communication

Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting and communicating both written and orally with customers in a customer service-related setting. Ability to communicate findings and make recommendations to resolve issues.Demonstrated ability to proactively assisting others in achieving the organization’s general objectives.

Organizational Skills

Demonstrate high attention to detail including excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking, observational skills and problem-solving skills to result in high accuracy. Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic and cohesive fast-paced team environment.

Clearance

Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance

Work Environment

Ability to work cohesively in a team environment that encourages collaboration with fellow team members to contribute to the efficiency of the facility.

Education/Experience

Position requires 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:

Additional Education and Training/Certifications

  • DOE Q clearance.

  • Ability to obtain a forklift license.

  • Enrolled in HRP

Special Skills

Critical thinker, strong quantitative and analytical skills; familiar with logistics and production planning concepts. Experience managing material in a nuclear environment with the ability to learn basic safety requirements needed to work within a Radiological Facility. Awareness and willingness to learn supply chain management practices. Candidate must be organized, focused, motivated and reliable.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
