 Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of simultaneous complex and diverse projects. Assists in developing timelines and ensures adherence to deadlines. Manages financial aspects of projects and other administrative duties. Handles external correspondence and drafts reports and other communications.

Essential Functions This Product Manager position in the Department of Biomedical Informatics Center for Clinical Research Informatics (CCRI) and Research Informatics Office (RIO) is responsible for the coordination of several high-profile biomedical research projects in the department. The candidate will be a point of contact with funding agencies, partnering institutions, and technical teams for product, administrative, and technical issues. Responsibilities include day-to-day management of project activities, business requirements specification, project-related meetings and communication with external institutions, developing schedules and milestones for cross-institution and internal product teams and for collaborative efforts with other teams, and meeting those schedules. Responsible for coordinating the teams’ efforts to develop and benefit from inter-institutional programs with a focus on creating value-adding data and functionality based on end user and stakeholder needs. This position will be responsible for producing and maintaining specifications and administrative and substantive reports and presentations. This position requires advanced knowledge of biomedical research, biomedical informatics, IT operations, or data management. Experience with best practices in modern software development, including agile development practices, or source-code control systems, testing and test-driven development and documentation is highly-desirable. A demonstrated experience implementing complex IT systems, managing complex projects, or consortium related projects, and the ability to direct cross-functional teams are key to the position. The incumbent must possess strong analytical skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute written sections of both academic publications and grant proposals.
Physical Effort Position is largely sedentary, but duties will involve frequent moving within the department and between buildings, and travel between sites locally and to other cities for meetings.
