Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Television Production, Photography, Graphic Design or a related field and three years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits.  Grade NE1 Wage Minimum $17.84/hr

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ROSS Xpression Graphics machine, with expertise in ESPN insert graphics package.
  • Has and applies a basic knowledge of what story ideas and concepts to use for assigned sports events.
  • Knowledge of sports and sports history.
  • Ability to function effectively in an atmosphere subject to frequent changes.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects).
  • Proficient with Ross Xpression Graphics, Sequencer and Datalink.
  • Ability to multi-task on live remote and studio productions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal communication skills, including both verbal and written.
  • Ability and willingness to work extensive nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Thrives on deadlines, delivering high quality, accurate work in pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Position Description

This position is responsible for all graphics content for generated live and/or taped content for the ACC Network, CardsTV and In-Venue productions.  The Graphics Operator communicates all content directives from ESPN's weekly production calls from sport-to-sport and serves as the graphics main insert operator.  The Graphics Operator will take the lead on all score bug operators training and will oversee all score bug operators from sport-to-sport.  This position reports to the Director of Television Production.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director of TV Production and Associate Producer to design, implement and execute on-air graphics that support storylines for all UofL Broadcast Center Productions.
  • Use knowledge of sports and graphics to help determine the concepts, look and content of graphics for assigned events.
  • Research sports information and obtain materials as directed by ESPN Associate Producers and directors or assigned producers.
  • Attends all graphic calls and conferences with ESPN Sport Administrators.
  • Handle pre-production work for assigned broadcast/webcast/Big Screen Productions.
  • Maintain the most current software and project deployments for all ESPN/ACC Network projects including IMS Images.
  • Train and mentor student and contract employees in various roles that include prepping elements for game, event, edit or shoot and executing content delivery.
  • Project lead for cutting out team headshots and actions shots for productions.
  • Stay current with technological advances in animation, video editing and graphics; recommend software updates as technology advances.
  • Update deep links to telecasts on institutional website.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Television Production.
