Job Description

The Procurement and Vendor Specialist supports the various business units of the Auxiliary Services Department with a focus on the BC dining unit operations and parking and transportation.  To promote operational efficiencies, this position will work as part of a team that is essential to support the maintenance, repairs and purchasing of equipment and vehicles.  In addition to processing vouchers and expense reimbursements, the Procurement and Vendor Specialist will work with the Associate Director during the evaluation and selection of vendors along with equipment repair/replace decisions.

  • Coordinate all aspects of equipment purchases adhering to budget requirements ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. 
  • Serve as a primary liaison between BC Facilities and the campus dining units.
  • Coordinate equipment installation and provide regular progress reports.
  • Initiate and process purchase requisitions, payment vouchers and reimbursements, working with Auxiliary Services Accounting and other departments as necessary to complete purchases.
  • Responsible for timely closeout of repair and maintenance tickets.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with University departments such as Facilities, Dining Services, Parking and Transportation and Auxiliary Services Accounting.  Maintain timely communication and coordination with involved parties to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in business or in a food service related field is a plus as well as professional accreditation in purchasing or procurement.
  • Outstanding communication skills and strong human relation skills.
  • Must be proficient in computer skills and accounting software applications, especially Excel, and Word and other Microsoft applications.
  • Strong organization skills are required to ensure appropriate prioritization of work and meeting of and university deadlines.
  • Experience with purchasing modules of the general accounting and menu management systems including PeopleSoft Financials.
  • Three to five years of experience relevant to purchasing and/or food service environment. 
  •  Knowledge of, and experience in, food service industry is extremely helpful. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Peak times of year may require hours in excess of standard work week.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $53,950 to $67,450; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
