Under general direction, prepares, reviews, monitors contracts for the acquisition of goods and services to ensure compliance with ABOR, university, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, federal standards and requirements.

Salary Range

$55,000 - $60,000 per year DOE


Essential Duties

  • Reviews non-complex contractual terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR), university policy, local, state, and federal standards, regulations, and requirements.
  • Reviews proposed, revised and current contracts for risk management, insurance, and indemnifications issues to ensure adherence with contract requirements.
  • Maintain and update procurement contract database to include but is not limited to: vendor name; contract term; expirations; pricing; general contract terms and conditions.
  • Works with procurement management and suppliers to resolve purchase order conflict in reference to terms and conditions.
  • Assists with the delivery of in-house training to promote participation and understanding of the contract process.
  • Assist with the preparation of correspondence and documents as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Administration, Procurement/Supply Chain Management or related field AND two (2) years of procurement, contract management/administration experience, OR, six (6) years of procurement, contract management/administration experience, OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Knowledge of contract terminology, writing and administration.
  • Knowledge of the practices and methods of contract review and techniques of file/record maintenance and control.
  • Skill in designing presentation materials.
  • Evidence of effective communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to interface with diverse client groups with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to communicate both internally and externally across all management levels and build sustaining relationships.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships with suppliers.
  • Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment.
  • Ability to lead by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs.

Working Environment

• Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
• Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
