Summary: 

The Procurement Analyst will work with the Procurement team in a collaborative position that will produce and maintain reports to assist the Supplier Relationship, Supplier Diversity, and Purchasing staff. They will assist them with effectively monitoring the performance of supplier contracts against the contract terms and conditions and HHMI Supplier Diversity goals. The primary focus for this position is to provide data insights that will further improve pricing, contract compliance, and the identification of existing alternative diverse suppliers. In addition to the duties detailed below, this position requires adopting unique one-time projects with innovation and creativity. This position may often support multiple ongoing initiatives simultaneously in addition to the standard reporting and business process responsibilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform data analysis and provide insights to Commodity Lead and Procurement Service Partners.

  • Communicate updates to the Procurement Service Partners (PSP), Supplier Diversity, and Supplier Relationships teams.

  • Assist with report inquiries and develop report specifications and queries for procurement metrics and supplier performance.

  • Perform vendor research related to product comparisons and pricing data.

  • Review, monitor, and take vital actions on Remaining Obligation Report.

  • Edit and produce various procurement and/or supplier diversity materials on the procurement website, including supplier diversity updates.

  • Develop spend analysis for science operations offices to demonstrate opportunities for increasing “on contract purchases” or for demonstrating lost opportunities based upon available contract pricing.

  • Perform audit of commodity coding and supervise the quality of commodity coding and resolving commodity coding discrepancies.

  • Responsible for monitoring, developing, and maintaining a listing of existing alternative diverse suppliers by commodity.

  • Works with the supplier enablement team to help resolve issues relating to Ariba Network suppliers as needed.

  • Assist with administration and validation of the Oracle data warehouse.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in purchasing, business, or related subject area.

  • Three to five years of procurement experience, preferably in an academic or research environment.

  • Proficient at running sophisticated reports and analyzing data, preferably with procurement systems.

  • Ability to work cooperatively across the organization to achieve shared objectives and maintain effective customer relationships.

  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver end results with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Actively seeks new ways to grow and be challenged using formal and informal development channels.

  • Exercise good judgment in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information and adhere to high standards of confidentiality and honesty.

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example, using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about the workspace. The position requires mobility, including moving materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

Compensation Range

$67,838.40 (minimum) - $84,798.00 (midpoint) - $110,237.40 (maximum)

Pay Type:

Annual

HHMI’s salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
