Job Summary
Identify and standardize TMAC smart manufacturing offerings statewide ensuring offerings support SMMs transition toward industry 4.0 advance manufacturing techniques and concepts. Develop internal training for TMAC regions to ensure the highest quality in delivery and implementation across the state to help optimize SMMs production capability. Advance TMAC’s smart manufacturing capabilities and offerings through awareness, participation, and active engagement with external organizations leading the national digital and smart manufacturing transformation. Identify and manage external providers used to expand TMAC’s capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide statewide management and support for the design, development, and implementation of advance manufacturing services, concepts, and techniques to help promote manufacturing optimization.
  • Work with TMAC regional offices’ technical staff to develop advance manufacturing offerings for delivery to their area manufacturers.
  • Serve as the point person for TMAC with regards to identifying new technology developed within the MEP systems, USA Manufacturing Institutes, Governmental R&D Labs, etc., that can be useful to incorporate into TMAC offerings for the manufacturing industrial base in Texas.
  • Promote TMAC and advance manufacturing capabilities statewide.
  • Participate in statewide working groups focused on advance manufacturing.
  • Work with stakeholders across the state to promote the dissemination of advance manufacturing concepts to Texas industry.
  • Build relationships and partnerships with advance manufacturing equipment providers within the state and nationally.
  • Work with the Business Operations team and TMAC regional offices to help develop delivery plans for advance manufacturing services that align with NIST/MEP strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop customer relationships, generate leads and support marketing efforts.
  • Incorporate Salesforce and Power BI data analytics into advance manufacturing project monitoring for impact and traceability statewide.
  • Work with TMAC management team to help develop overall strategy for delivery of advance manufacturing offerings statewide.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Management of third-party contractor activities.

Budgetary Responsibilities:
  • Management of project specific budgets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM), or related field with six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience with manufacturing automation systems, equipment, and technologies.
  • Experience in managing and developing employees.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master degree in related science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM), or related field with four (4) years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies is crucial.
  • Professional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

    • Auto CAD
    • Robotic Programming
    • PLC controls
    • CNC G-Code
