Purpose

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Shared Services, with the clinical supervision of the Radiologist, performs examinations of patients of all ages for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.


Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site Radiologist.

  • Completes and signs Patient Screening form and explains the procedure to the patient.

  • Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the Imaging area and during the exam.

  • Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols.

  • Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.

  • Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.

  • Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the facility.

  • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.

  • Complies with all safety policies and regulations.

  • Work with research associates to provide technical support when necessary.

  • Additional duties as required.


Required Qualifications

Completion of an approved two-year technical training school of radiologic technology. Certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be registered by ARRT in MRI. Help obtain ACR accreditation for modality and ensure compliance with all requirements to retain accreditation. Current license in the state of Texas. Two years of experience as a Radiology Technologist and skilled use of radiology equipment. Current CPR Certification.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a Radiology Technologist in a clinic setting. Experience working in mammography.


Salary Range

$35 per hour + depending on qualifications
