Adicet Bio, Inc is a clinical stage biotechnology company discovering and developing allogeneic gamma delta T cell therapies for cancer. We are advancing a pipeline of “off-the-shelf” gamma delta T cells, engineered with chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) and T cell receptor-like antibodies (TCRL), to enhance selective tumor targeting, facilitate innate and adaptive anti-tumor immune response, and improve persistence for durable activity in patients. Our approach to activate, engineer and manufacture allogeneic gamma delta T cell product candidates derived from the peripheral blood cells of unrelated donors allows us to generate new product candidates in a rapid and cost-efficient manner. Scientist / Sr. Scientist / Principal Scientist Bioanalytical Assays
Adicet Bio is looking to expand the preclinical team with hard-working individuals who believe in the potential of cells as engineered medicines, have the vision to do creative things, and the determination to execute upon that vision. As a member of the Molecular Engineering group, you will work within a highly dynamic and cross-functional environment on projects of diverse scope and be excited to take deep dives into therapeutic areas being pursued. The Scientist/Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist will join a highly motivated team of scientists and associates developing novel CAR therapeutics and bispecifics to target solid tumors. You will be responsible for the development and execution of bioanalytical assays to support pre-clinical studies and will play a pivotal role in advancing Adicet's preclinical pipeline.
You should be comfortable wearing multiple technical hats on a daily basis, from determining binding constants for an antibody to examining its impact in the context of CAR activation in immune cells. You will design bioanalytical assay methodologies to determine drug candidates’ mechanism of action, screen and characterize engineered proteins, be comfortable determining binding kinetics and constants, profile immune cells by measuring secreted cytokines, look at signaling pathways using phospho flo, and a multitude of other assays to characterize the clinical product.
The Scientist will be expected to prepare and deliver effective presentations to project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will balance technical skills with critical-thinking and have demonstrated a track record of rapidly driving high-quality, high-impact projects to completion. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and a drive to proactively facilitate the continuous improvement of processes and culture. The final level of this position will be based on the candidate's qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laboratory-focused position directly contributes to data generation.
- Demonstrates high level of independence, specifically in experimental design and execution.
- Works with research associates on experimental design, troubleshooting, assay optimization and data interpretation as needed.
- Critically analyze, summarize, and report data generated from experiments, draw conclusions from experimental results, recommend and execute follow-up actions with consideration of prior experimental findings (self and others) with minimal supervision.
- Maintain familiarity with current technology related information, literature, and theories. Demonstrate scientific creativity and understanding of the principles, requirements, and practices of immunoassay development.
- Conduct project related information searches, literature searches, contribute to scientific publications, posters, and conferences, when appropriate.
- Develop robust and reliable Ligand Binding Assays, including ELISA, Luminex, SPR/Octet, Enzymatic activity assays and other platform methods.
- Perform experiments to support product characterization using tissue culture, ELISAs, signal transduction and cytokine assays
- Foster good teamwork and communication. Build reputation of excellence as an individual and as a team.
- Analyze, interpret, and translate results into actionable and tangible findings.
- Author, review and approve technical documents including standard operating procedures (SOPs), test methods, and technical reports.
- Comply with company policies.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Biology with 12/9/4 + years of experience respectively.
- Hands-on experience with design, development, and optimization, of novel bioassays and immunoassays using
- multiple platforms and technologies (e.g. ELISA, MSD/Luminex, SPR/Octet, cytokine analyses, and cell-based reporter and cytotoxicity assays). Familiar with multicolor flow cytometry and data analysis (FACSDiva, FlowJo, GraphPad, Prism, Excel) and microscopy.
- Strong foundation in molecular biology and gene expression analysis methods (e.g. Quantitative RT-PCR, ddPCR).
- Experience with protein analytical methods (SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting).
- Experience with sample processing methods to support protein and nucleic acid detection from a variety of tissue types.
- Hands-on experience working with cell-lines (primary and immortalized), demonstrated competence in sterile cell culture techniques.
- Track record of developing technical assays/methods and SOPs.
- Experience working in a GxP environment, and CRO management for method transfer is a plus.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated success working with multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment.
- Collaborative and proactive attitude with excellent written and oral communication skills.
