Summary of Duties:

This position provides comprehensive administrative, operational and fiscal support to the Director of Public Safety, Finance and Administration, Public Services. The position exercises independent judgment and discretion in their work and has delegated authority to make commitments. Manage the day-to-day administrative functions such as development and management of operational budgets, prepare/provide fiscal analysis, grants and contracts, property inventory; resource management, independently interpret and advise personnel in regards to departmental, state, federal, university regulations and policies as well as Collective Bargaining Unit Agreements. Duties include but are not limited to communications, employee recruitment, position control, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, travel and financial activities for reporting units, managing social media accounts.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Experience in payroll processing and personnel time reporting systems.

  • Experience monitoring, planning, and forecasting budgets.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to interpret, develop, and implement policies and procedures.

  • Skilled in organizing, planning, and prioritizing multiple high priority tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a public safety environment.

  • Experience working with and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.

  • Experience managing social media accounts.

Monthly Salary: $4,508.70 - $5,808.00 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
