Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

This position reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for functioning as principal assistant for any sports or programs assigned and serving as primary point of operational and administrative contact for internal and external constituencies, often on complex and confidential issues; performs and/or oversees a variety of administrative, fiscal, staff support and planning activities, some of which require advance or specialized knowledge or skills, such as specialized record-keeping and database management, and specified information-gathering projects and tasks that require independent judgment, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity. Must be able to interpret and apply complicated rules and regulations. Must work easily and effectively with coaches, staff and administrators.
 

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license by time of hire. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, use of electronic mail, and calendar systems.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the culture and organization of Intercollegiate Athletics.

  • Experience working in a higher education setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and perform sound decision-making in both low and high intensity environments.

  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable rules and regulations, including State of Washington, Washington State University, Athletic Department, NCAA, and Pac-12 Conference.
