Summary of Duties:
The Principal Assistant is responsible for carrying out a full range of complex and confidential administrative and managerial assignments on behalf of the Chief of Staff, President, Executive Assistant to the Board of Regents, and the Board of Regents. Duties include but are not limited to: providing comprehensive administrative support; responsible for maintaining open communication and collaboration among internal and external constituents; project planning and management; research; and executing strategic goals of the office and university. This position is proactive, takes initiative, is efficiently responsive, undertakes projects with little direction, and analyzes and summarizes information for projects. The work and information handled is of a nature regularly requiring confidentiality and the exercise of discretion.
Essential Job Functions:

45% - Support WSU System President's Office

Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field AND four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearfor-year basis.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including professional experience in preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations.
Experience working in an environment requiring confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
A history of meeting deadlines and providing high-quality work
Excellent writing and proofreading skills
Strong customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with Workday, PeopleAdmin or another complex enterprise system with an HR and/or Finance module
Experience providing executive level support to an individual or group of individuals.
Demonstrated fiscal administrative experience relating to budgeting, funding, grants, contracts, purchasing and/or travel.
Project management experience.
Familiarity with WSU policies and procedures.

Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.
This is a permanent position.
Monthly Salary: $4,583 - $6,763
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
