The University of North Georgia is seeking qualified, competent applicants for the position of Presidential Ambassador to join a knowledgeable, well-trained, and customer service-oriented team for University Events. The position is housed within the Division of Strategic Communications & Marketing and will be under the supervision of the Associate Director of University Events. The position is for student employees and is limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week.

  • Report to the Associate Director of University Events. 
  • Serve as a mentor to the Junior Presidential Ambassadors, mentoring them in soft skills, technical skills, and knowledge of University Events. 
  • Provide high quality and discreet customer service to individuals of all ages as well as high level constituents.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of commencement ceremonies. 
  • Plan, prepare, and assist in the execution of all commencement ceremonies throughout the academic year.
  • Help recruit, train, and communicate with additional staff volunteers, when needed, for large-scale events.
  • Assist with the communication of event information to faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends.
  • Enforce all policies and procedures connected to University Events and the Office of the President.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to prepare spreadsheets, signage, reports and planning materials for events, and special projects for the Office of the President as requested/needed.
  • Assist with the processes for university events, special events and provide administrative staffing to the Office of the President on a rotating basis as requested/needed.
  • Answer phones, greet and direct guests as needed, make on-campus pickups/deliveries, and perform other administrative duties as assigned. 
  • Participate in a bi-weekly staff meeting. 
  • Work in conjunction with all appropriate full-time staff members as well as other student workers to continuously assess the needs of University Events.

  • Possess a keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Applicants must exhibit effective organizational and leadership skills.
  • Applicants should have an enthusiastic approach to delivering high quality customer service and be professional at all times.
  • Willingness to spend adequate time with the program.
  • Applicants must have the ability to attend staff trainings/meetings and have a willingness to work at least 8-15 hours per week. 
  • In addition to the 8-15 hours a week, applicants must work all commencement ceremonies and assist with special events throughout the academic year. 
  • Applicants must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum weight of 35 pounds.
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Experience in administrative work, graphic design and organizing special events is preferred but not required.
