Prenatal Study Manager


Position Summary

The Recruitment Manager will manage the recruitment of prenatal participants into the CHARM study in coordination with the CHARM Program Director. This position will involve frequent interaction with study principal investigators, physicians, clinical staff, and field staff.

This position will be responsible for planning and coordinating the recruitment of prenatal patients at affiliated clinics and hospitals across Michigan to reach the goal of the CHARM project and supervising all the site coordinators completing the recruitment work. They will compile data and reports on the progress of prenatal recruitment and follow-up weekly for PI review, monthly for project officer review, and annually for funding source review. Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates site coordinators at each location; identifies supplies and equipment required for successful recruitment and orders appropriately within the allocated budget. Develops protocols for data collection and participant engagement during the prenatal life stage; ensures data collected meets the requirements of the PIs and the funding source. Oversees and assists field research activities as they relate to the CHARM study. Invites scientists and investigators to present findings to site coordinators and follow-up team, schedules presentations, and facilitates discussion. Routinely trains site coordinators on the use of multiple data collection software & platforms. Performs quality controls for data collected within software/platform.

The position is based in East Lansing, Michigan. The position reports to the Program Director.


Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through completion of one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master's in the specific field of research employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research methodologies, writing reports , supervision, software, data interpretation and handling in area related to research being performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and may require special licensing or certification in the field related to the area of employment.


Desired Qualifications

Experience collecting patient-level data for research studies and conducting quality control measures to ensure the reliability and integrity of all study data. Experience conducting health-related interviews with study participants. Experience in working with data managers and programmers to create databases for use in the field. Ability to efficiently balance multiple tasks and/or complex issues. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to correspond effectively with clinical and administrative personnel across multiple institutions.
