Summary of Duties:

The role of the Pre-Clerkship Assessment Data Analyst is to support functions for student assessment in Years 1 and 2. Using a continuous quality improvement approach, this position is responsible for utilizing data and data analysis techniques to report on the performance of students and departments as well as identify needed faculty development within the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. As the pre-clerkship data specialist this role will also take responsibility to communicate and present accurate data to stakeholders. This role will also take the responsibility of providing trainings and presentations on appropriate data consumption, as needed.


This position will support the College’s mission to continuously improve the students’ learning experience, as well as support all reporting requirements for accreditation and in partnership with the AAMC.

The Office of Assessment, Evaluation, and Curriculum Management (AEC) develops and oversees the strategies to:

- Continuously monitor and actively report on the outcomes of student learning experiences with student assessment in the Pre-clerkship years.

- Enable the delivery of a complex, integrated competency-based curriculum through the learning management system.

- Fulfill processes and functions related to maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree, including college-level course work in statistics and/or mathematics or one (1) year of work experience in statistics, analysis, or research OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data sets from a variety of sources.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate (both written and verbal) and present complex systems clearly and tactfully.
  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and/or other analytical tools.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA.
  • Understanding of data gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling/diagramming techniques.

Monthly Salary: Range 43 $3,480 to $4,656 A-M | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
