Job Summary
Responsible for identifying and linking new and existing funding opportunities with appropriate faculty. Provides support to UTA faculty and staff locating funding opportunities. Coordinates the limited submission proposal opportunities which includes identification, publication on the website and the production of a twice monthly email for distribution to the research listserv. Provides colleges and units with twice monthly funding opportunities newsletters via email. Maintains several UTA funding opportunity websites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Seek out information on new and existing streams of funding to inform UTA administration and interested faculty.
  • Find funding opportunities for faculty members using sponsor websites and search engines based on research interests provided by faculty.
  • Be able to read and understand funding opportunities to determine feasibility, eligibility, and appropriateness.
  • Find limited submission proposal opportunities to be published on the OGCS website and twice monthly newsletter.
  • Manage the limited submission competition process and the notifications to researchers.
  • Create and manage the monthly newsletters that are emailed to the Colleges and departments including determining eligibility and appropriateness for the specific college or department.
  • Find funding opportunities to publish on the OGCS website for Hispanic/Minority Serving Institutions, Center and Infrastructure, and others.
  • Maintain accurate and updated e-files and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Assists management in the preparation of ad-hoc reports.
  • Participate in special projects such as, development and presentation of training workshops, drafting, updating, and amending pre award processes, procedures, and report development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or public administration, social sciences or equivalent experience or a combination of the two (2).
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year related experience in Research Administration. 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • MS Office suites: Excel, Word, Outlook; above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with various people within the department and university as well as vendors and clients.
