JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual for a mid-career position in Research Administration as a Pre-Award Coordinator (Proposal and Award Generalist - Advanced). The selected candidate will join a highly respected team of pre-award and post-award professionals in a high-volume, fast-paced, innovative, and service-first environment.

This position has the potential to be performed as fully remote or as a hybrid of remote and on-site work.

This position will focus on pre-award administration responsibilities to include: 

  • Prepare proposal budgets and non-technical components of grant applications.

  • Review solicitation requirements and provide guidance to faculty to ensure compliant submissions.

  • Generate grant application packages on a variety of government websites (i.e., Research.gov, Grants.gov).

  • Maintain cognizance of University research administration policies and guidelines and guide faculty and staff on appropriate procedures and required approvals.

  • Coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Programs, Research Accounting, Office of Research Protections, and other University contacts as needed throughout the proposal process.

Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and think outside the box.

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus two or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of the Penn State ACOR Certification and Education Series (ACES) and/or experience with SIMS and SIMSBudgets are a plus.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
