Essential functions (job duties):

Manages student placement and registration for the practicum/community engagement component of the Master of Public Health program. Supports department community engagement efforts by serving as a liaison to the community. Coordinate community and public health-related project elements that support resource utilization, administrative reporting, training in new and existing procedure and problem resolution. This position supports the distinct needs of health equity programs within the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate, manage and track student field placements for applied, community-engaged learning. Represent programs to community agencies which provide supervised practicum and other service-learning activities. Assist in placing students in community agencies and applied learning settings. Coordinate preceptor and student activities, including the management of student applicant file reviews.

Establish confidential relationships required to interview community agencies and students or to request that identified individuals to complete surveys to evaluate programs and students. Compile and provide data for use in required reporting, including budget information, accreditation reports and admission reports.

Serve in a liaison capacity to internal and external stakeholders. Support annual meetings with internal and external advisory committees. Coordinate events and projects with collaborating agencies to exchange information and remain current with developments in field. Support activities lead by the public health student organization. Participate in academic recruiting.

Provide clerical support as needed, including answering telephone calls, responding to email inquiries and completing necessary paperwork. Support program special projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.

EXPERIENCE
Experience using Microsoft Office suite of software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access). Ability to communicate effectively with others and establish professional and confidential relationships. Previous experience in a community setting preferred. Some knowledge of data collection methods preferred.
