The Department of Family Medicine has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Practice Innovation Coordinator position.

Jobs in this career family provide general research and/or business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families. Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.  Work is performed fully independently.

Position Emphasis

The mission of the Department of Family Medicine is to help people be healthier. The research-specific mission is to improve community health and well-being through high-quality research in patient-centered family medicine using holistic and integrative models of health. The mission of the Practice Innovation Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (PIP@CU) is to foster innovation in health and healthcare. We aim to be a leading source of innovative tools, support, education, evaluation, and research designed to improve healthcare practices, systems, and communities of health. This position will work across projects to support administrative operations and implementation for the program, including day-to-day operations and successful execution of outcomes and deliverables for specific research, public policy, and implementation projects.

Position Duties

  • Develops and implements materials for communications with partners and participating practices, including generating and updating website content, developing newsletters and presentations, and managing email listservs.
  • Communicates and builds connections with external partners, including agencies of the State of Colorado, practice transformation organizations (PTOs), various other community organizations, primary care practices, external funders, and other academic departments and institutions.
  • Works with project teams to set agendas, develop processes, manage needed follow-up activities, and ensure consistent support necessary to sustain the successful implementation of Practice Innovation Projects.
  •  Participates in monthly quality assurance review process regarding external partner performance and deliverables and communicates results to external partners.
  • Supports the logistics for Collaborative Learning Sessions for PTOs, practices and other partners, as well as PTO meetings and other virtual and in-person convenings of external partners.
  • Participates in the preparation, quality review, and dissemination of project reports.
  • Tracks and monitors monthly and periodic programmatic deliverables from PTOs across PIP initiatives.
  • Shares weekly staffing responsibilities for the Practice Innovation Program’s ‘help desk’.
  • Delegates administrative tasks for PIP@CU faculty to support staff (DFMAdmin) and ensures completion of related tasks.
  • As necessary, handles complex administrative tasks or inquiries escalated by support staff, or provides direction to support staff for resolving issues.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring range for this position has been established at $51,564 to $65,000.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of professional level experience supporting research projects and/or providing executive-level support to multiple parties, preferably in a healthcare or higher education setting. 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working across multiple projects and teams, well-organized with strong time management skills to balance long term projects with short timeline deliverables.  Comfortable asking for guidance when there are competing demands.
  • Experience in developing communication materials for external audiences
  • Master’s level degree in public health, healthcare administration, business administration or other related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with online survey tools such as Qualtrics, Redcap, or Survey Monkey
  • Experience with a website platform such as Wordpress, Sitefinity, or Squarespace
