Job Description

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Baylor’s Law School is seeking a Legal Writing Associate who will supports the mission of Baylor University by providing administrative and logistical support for the Practice Court program.
A Juris Doctor degree, less than one year of experience, and an active Christian faith are required. 
A Juris Doctor degree, two years of experience, and an active Christian faith are preferred. 
Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 
WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Knowledge of Baylor Law’s Practice Court program and an understanding of the quarter system. 
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through on projects independently. 
  • Desire to work in fast-paced environment with a hard-working, dedicated team.
  • Ability to frequently move materials, boxes, and exhibits weighing up to 25 pounds across the school for various needs.
  • Experience in managing a heavy workload and handle competing deadlines in a work environment involving a large number of interruptions. 
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze and review guidelines, policies and procedures to determine appropriate solutions to problems and/or questions

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Handling all scheduling for advocacy exercises connected with the Baylor Practice Court program.
  • Serve as primary initial liaison between Practice Court students and faculty, to address questions. 
  • Coordinate the administrative and technical details for the conduct of classes and advocacy exercises in the Practice Court Program.
  • Track and record grades for the multiple courses and advocacy exercises in the Practice Court program. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
  • Ability to comply with university policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
