Job Summary
The current position is for the postdoctoral scholar to work on an NIH-funded research project focused on the potential role of the pancreatic hormone human amylin in cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases. The successful applicant will use protein biochemistry, ELISA, molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, and/or rodent experiments to determine amylin-mediated processes in cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases. He/she will also participate in maintaining the mouse/rat colonies (regular monitoring of the experimental animals, breeding, genotyping, updating of the colony information, etc.). and will perform routine procedures in experimental animals (blood and CSF draw, IP and IV injections, and measurement of blood glucose, glucose and insulin tolerance tests, euthanasia, organ collection and storing).

Capable of working independently and in a dependable and reliable manner. Excellent capability as a team worker. Maintain precise records of the experiments in the lab notes. Excellent oral and writing communication capability.
