POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR

The Ecoclimatology of Carbon and Water (ECH2O) lab, led by Matt Dannenberg, at the University of Iowa has an open postdoctoral position in "global change ecology" focused on the impacts of climate change on carbon and/or water cycling in terrestrial ecosystems. We’re looking for a creative scientist to join us to use a variety of techniques (remote sensing, tree rings, eddy covariance, and/or process-based modeling) at any scale ranging from detailed, mechanistic analyses of single sites to global-scale observational- or model-based assessments of climate change impacts on ecosystems.

Applicants must have completed the requirements for a PhD in a relevant scientific field prior to their proposed start date.

Strong programming skills in R, MATLAB, or Python; prior experience with one or more of the following: remote sensing, tree rings, eddy covariance, or process-based modeling; strong interpersonal and communication skills (including writing); ability to work independently and in a team environment; attention to detail; and resilience.
