JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Electrical Engineering within the College of Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, in conjunction with the Smart Networking and Computing (SNeC) Lab, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research at the intersection of networking, optimization, and learning, with applications to collaborative virtual/augmented reality, mobile edge computing, and Internet of Things.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Professor Bin Li with research on problems at the intersection of networks, optimization, and learning, with applications to collaborative virtual/augmented reality, mobile edge computing, and Internet of Things.

  • Work alongside graduate students to prepare research reports for relevant sponsored research contracts and participate in proposal writing for new funding opportunities.

  • Prepare and present research results at domestic and international conferences.

  • Publish findings in conference proceedings and technical journal articles.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field by the appointment start date. Research expertise in communication networks, online learning, and optimization is highly desired. The successful candidate must be strongly motivated, able to work independently, and have excellent collaborative abilities.

Additional Information:

This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with a possibility of renewal.
