JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Wet bench and computational postdoctoral positions are available at Pennsylvania State University to study RNA structure-function relationships under the supervision of Prof. Sarah Assmann (Dept. of Biology) and Prof. Philip Bevilacqua (Dept. of Chemistry). Our collaborative research employs both Arabidopsis and crop species to reveal how RNA structure and its variation regulate plant responses to stresses associated with climate change, both abiotic and biotic. A Ph.D. and strong skills in either molecular biology or bioinformatics are required, as demonstrated in peer-reviewed publications. These are limited-term appointments funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of continuation, as we have received several new sources of funding for these projects. Applications must be submitted electronically as a single pdf that contains: (1) Statement of Research Skills and Interests; (2) Curriculum Vitae; (3) Names and Contact Information for three references.

Please email Prof. Sarah Assmann at [email protected] and/or Prof. Philip Bevilacqua at [email protected] to express your interest and for further information. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
