Job Title: Postdoctoral Scholar Research

Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $56,484 - $66,228 annual

Job Summary

A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated individual to participate in Alzheimer's disease research. The successful candidate will apply cutting-edge transcriptomics and proteomics strategies to investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms of AD risk factors and AD-associated microglial and neuronal abnormalities. We use transgenic and knock-out mouse models, rodent primary cultures, and human iPSC-derived neurons and glia in our investigations. Those who join our team will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and train with experienced molecular, cellular, and translational neuroscientists investigating various aspects of Alzheimer’s disease and neurological disorders. We are seeking candidates with previous experience in omics approaches or advanced neuropathology, interdisciplinary training, and a strong publication record.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training in mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases, relevant neuronal-glial in vitro systems, or advanced microscopy. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.


Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with models of neurodegeneration, molecular neurobiology, and neuronal cell biology.
    • Strong background in mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases, relevant neuronal-glial in vitro systems, or advanced microscopy.

Other Qualifications:
    • A successful applicant must be dedicated, responsible, detail-oriented, well-organized, efficient, and communicate clearly with other postdocs, graduate students, and research technicians.
    • The position also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, practiced documentation skills, and the ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in a professional manner.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team, set priorities, and manage time effectively despite unanticipated interruptions. Willingness to adjust to changes in the workload and change focus as needed.
