POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Clinical and Translational Research Postdoctoral Fellow with an MD degree to join our esteemed team in the field of gastroenterology. This position offers a unique opportunity for a recent medical graduate to gain valuable experience and contribute to innovative research in gastroenterology, with a focus on clinical and translational approaches. The successful candidate will engage in various activities including research design, data analysis, clinical investigation, and scholarly dissemination.

 

DUTIES:

Research Design and Implementation:

    • Collaborate with the research team to design and execute clinical and translational research studies in gastroenterology.
    • Develop protocols, obtain regulatory approvals, and oversee study implementation.
    • Recruit and enroll participants, collect clinical data, and ensure protocol adherence.
    • Utilize translational methodologies to bridge basic science discoveries with clinical applications.

Patient Recruitment and Consent: 

  • Identify and screen potential participants for research studies, explaining the purpose, procedures, and risks involved. 
  • Obtain informed consent from eligible patients and ensure compliance with ethical standards. 

Data Collection and Documentation: 

  • Collect and record accurate and detailed data related to patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. 
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized research records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards. 

Clinical Monitoring: 

  • Monitor and assess patients enrolled in research studies, promptly addressing any adverse events or changes in health status. 
  • Work closely with the research team to implement appropriate interventions and ensure participant safety. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, pharmacists, and laboratory personnel, to facilitate seamless research operations. 
  • Communicate effectively with study sponsors, regulatory bodies, and external collaborators to ensure compliance with research protocols and regulations. 

Education and Support: 

  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding research studies, ensuring their understanding and cooperation throughout the study period. 
  • Serve as a resource for other healthcare professionals, offering guidance on research-related procedures and protocols. 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure that research practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for research activities. 

 

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

    • Work with the PI and the biostatistical team to analyze clinical and molecular data using advanced statistical methods and bioinformatics tools.
    • Interpret findings and contribute to the development of novel hypotheses.
    • Present research findings at internal and external meetings, conferences, and scientific symposia.

Clinical Investigation:

    • Participate in patient recruitment and clinical assessments.

Scholarly Dissemination:

    • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to grant proposals.
    • Present research findings at national and international conferences.
    • Engage in academic discussions and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in gastroenterology.

Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.
