The Department of Radiology is committed to supporting the innovative research done by the USC Radiomics Lab. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position in the Radiomics Laboratory at the Department of Radiology, Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC). We are seeking to hire a postdoctoral fellow for multi-disciplinary projects aimed at extracting quantitative metrics from imaging data (CT, US, MRI, PET-CT) to assess their association with a variety of non-imaging data, including but not limited to genetic/molecular profiles, clinical parameters, and outcomes. The candidate will work as part of the USC Radiomics Laboratory in the Department of Radiology. The group is active in the field of quantitative imaging / radiomics, with ongoing collaborations in the field of data science, genomics, oncology, informatics biomarker development and decision support systems.
The research themes are:
1. Integrate imaging with multi omic data across multiple scales to characterize and classify cancer phenotypes
2. Develop potential quantitative biomarkers in diagnosis and management with a role in treatment categorization
3. Validate and translate these biomarkers to guide clinical practice and develop decision support pathways
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD with at least 2 or more years of relevant experience in Bioinformatics, image science, computer science, or electrical engineering, Physics, or related subjects
- Knowledge of DICOM format data, primarily with imaging modalities,
- Experience with Matlab, Python, R
- Prior experience working with file structure and file management.
- Strong programming, image processing, and signal processing skills
- Experience with emerging imaging and multimodal platforms such as, XNAT would be a plus
- Expertise in R, C/C++ programming environments
- Experience with open source radiomics software such as py-radiomics, KNIME, MaZDa etc and segmentation software such as ITK & VTK, ImageJ, Amira etc.
- Experience in machine learning and deep learning is a desired skillset
- Hands-on experience in high performance computing, especially for parallelizing code in Matlab, C/C++ (openMP) and/or R in a grid environment.
- Familiarity with the state-of-the-art radiomics approaches in the literature and beyond, as well as the eagerness to test and improve existing AI implementations

The annual base salary range for this position is $54,080- $65,000.04. Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years Minimum Experience: 0-1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods
