A Postdoctoral Scholar is needed to support the research activities of Dr. Hussein Yassine in the study of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) at the University of Southern California.  This is a one year, fixed term grant supported position that is renewable.

We are seeking a motivated scientist with experience working in the AD field. Our research focuses on understanding how apolipoprotein E4 contributes to AD pathology.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) with a Neuroscience background preferred. A successful candidate should have experience working with AD mice models.  The work will require experience in cell culture, molecular biology, microscopy, and transfections.  In addition, the Postdoctoral Scholar will have the responsibility of supervising students and technicians in the lab.

Preferred Field of Expertise: Transgenic AD mice models

Percentage of Time: 100%

Fixed Term: 2/1/2020 – 1/31/2021


Minimum Education: Ph. D. or equivalent doctorate within five years Minimum Experience: 0-1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
