Postdoctoral Scholar Position.

A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Willy Hugo at UCLA Department of Medicine to study the evolution of drug resistance in cancer under the pressure of targeted and/or immunotherapy.

Our research focuses on delineating how the tumor and stroma/immune cell populations adapt and interact during the development of drug resistance. We apply novel single cell analytics including single cell omics, spatial transcriptomics, novel multiplex immunofluorescence staining application on patient tumor samples. We validate nominated mechanism(s) of immune vs. tumor cell interactions from the large data analysis using tumor and immune cell co-cultures in vitro and mouse models of cancer in vivo. The candidate will focus on the experimental validations of observations from analysis of tumor samples from patients treated with immunotherapy or targeted therapy.

We are excited to recruit a candidate with recent PhD with expertise in immunology, engineering of primary immune cells from human and mouse, and strong skills in molecular biology (cloning).
