JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Cellular & Molecular Physiology at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for The Raimundo Lab who will be working in projects related to the role of mitochondria and lysosomes in aging. Together with the PI, they will design experiments and analyze data. They will be responsible for carrying out the experiments (with training, when necessary) using the lab protocols or otherwise agreed methods, and to keep a record of their activity and data according to the data policy of the lab/institution. Experience in imaging (including image analysis) or bioinformatics (particularly analysis of RNAseq, proteome and metabolome datasets) is advantageous. The project involves cultured mammalian cells and mouse models, and often relies on in silico data to generate or test hypothesis.

Experience in cell culture, western blotting, immunoprecipitation and in mouse manipulation is very important. Candidates without first-author publications will only exceptionally be considered. 

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
