JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The laboratory of Professor Squire Booker in the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at The Pennsylvania State University seeks to fill a postdoctoral research position in bioinorganic chemistry. Candidates with strong past experience in spectroscopy, electrochemistry, metabolomics, and/or structural biology will be favored. The position will involve the identification and characterization of metalloenzymes and the reactions and pathways in which they function, and will require a Ph.D. in one of several relevant areas of biochemistry. Applications should be submitted electronically, and should include a cover letter and curriculum vitae. The cover letter and/or curriculum vitae should describe prior training and other qualifications for the position, and include a list of publications and references. Applicants should be scheduled to receive or have received their Ph.D. within the past two years. Following a screening of these initial application materials, appropriate candidates will be contacted by email and asked to arrange for letters of recommendation to be sent so that they might be considered further. The initial appointment is funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of re-funding.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here .
