JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available starting August 1, 2024, in the Eberly College of Science  at the Pennsylvania State University  to develop coarse-grained molecular dynamics models of plant cell wall creep under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Cosgrove (Biology) in collaboration with Dr. Sulin Zhang (Material Science).
A Ph.D. in material science or related fields is required with experience in computational modeling of materials, ideally the mechanics of fibrous materials. Knowledge of cellulose and plant cell walls is desirable.
 
This is a term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of extension.
