Department Summary

The Computer and Information Science Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oregon offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Computer and Information Science; instruction is provided by 16 tenure track faculty, 2 emeritus faculty, and 6 career instructor faculty. The department serves approximately 600 undergraduate and 90 graduate majors, as well as offering a number of general education classes in the discipline. The primary research foci of the tenure track faculty are high-performance computing, data science, networking, and distributed systems with cross-cutting concerns of security and privacy.


Position Summary

The Oregon Networking Research Group (https://onrg.gitlab.io/ ) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a Ph.D. in computer science and solid knowledge and experience in networking, networked systems, or cybersecurity.

As a postdoc in our research group, you will have the opportunity to work on several funded research projects in various areas of networking, including cloud computing, programmable data planes, network measurements, and Internet data science. You will work with a team of researchers and collaborators from several universities and research labs, as well as with industry partners to transition research-based solutions to practice. While knowledge of ML/AI/data science/data analysis is preferred, it is not a requirement.

Minimum Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science.
• Experience in computer networking or networked systems.
• A strong publication record in top-tier venues.

Preferred Qualifications

• An interest in initiating, engaging, developing, and managing ongoing and new research projects.

• Strong technical writing experience (e.g., papers, research proposals, etc.).
• Knowledge of ML/AI/data science/data analysis.
