Postdoctoral Scholar - Biological Intervention for Osteoarthritis (OA) - 24000000GD
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar to work under the mentorship of Dr. Hongsik Cho in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering at UTHSC. An immediate opening is available for a postdoctoral research fellow focusing on the development of stem cell therapy and targeted nanoparticle treatments for osteoarthritis (OA). The responsibilities include preparing targeted nanoparticles containing drugs or contrast agents, evaluating target efficacy in vitro (utilizing a 3D micro physiological system), and in vivo (establishing an OA animal model and conducting imaging studies). Additionally, the position involves contributing to the development of a stem cell therapy method for osteoarthritis.
Description
Qualifications Ph.D. in Biomedical, Biomaterials, Biological Science, or a closely related field. Practical knowledge of cartilage and bone biology, biomaterial synthesis (i.e.. nanosomes, hydrogel, chitosan, etc.), molecular work, small animal imaging, histopathology, and animal model handling is essential. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently are critical. The postdoctoral scholar will lead their project and provide training to college-level students within our lab.
