Position Overview

The Infant Cognition Laboratory at the University of Kansas Life Span Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to assist with and coordinate an NIH-funded study of individual differences in infant learning.  The project is a multi-site longitudinal study conducted at the University of Kansas under Dr. John Colombo in collaboration with the infant laboratory at the University of Connecticut under Dr. Kimberly Cuevas.  The postdoc will be responsible for day-to-day duties in the laboratory, including recruitment and tracking of participants and data collection.

Applicants should have the doctoral degree conferred at the time of appointment to this position, or have the degree conferred within six months from the date of hire.  Position is a limited term of up to 4 years, contingent on availability of funding.


Job Description

60% - Implementation of Assessment Protocols

  • Lead the implementation of clinical, psychological, and educational assessments consistent with research protocols, guided by best practice standards.
  • Includes scoring of protocols, coordinating entry into data systems, and working with project teams to interpret assessment outcomes and track implementation of assessment batteries.
20% - Train staff to implement protocols
  • Train students, other team members, and other project staff in assessment protocols, monitor fidelity to protocols, and ensure training and re-training as needed.
10% - Support Grant Development
  • Support development of protocols for grant proposals, specifically defining state of the art measurement approaches to establishing diagnoses and tracking outcomes.
10% - Dissemination
  • Support disseminating of findings, including supporting integration of measures in analysis plans, write up of assessment protocols, and reports required for projects.
