Postdoctoral Associate – Yale Imaging and Psychopharmacology Lab

The Yale Imaging and Psychopharmacology (YIP) Lab at Yale University School of Medicine (PI: Dr. Sarah Yip) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate for a 2-3 year appointment working at the interface between neuroimaging, computational psychiatry and predictive analytics. Appointments are available to start in June 2024 or sooner.

The postdoctoral associate will join a diverse, interdisciplinary team committed to understanding brain-behavior relationships using data from both large-scale data initiatives (e.g., ABCD, UKB) and from curated clinical cohorts (e.g., densely sampled longitudinal fMRI data acquired during treatment for substance use disorders). In addition to developing their own research program, the successful candidate will contribute to multiple NIH funded awards. Our lab is primarily located within Psychiatry and collaborates closely with colleagues in Yale’s Child Study and Magnetic Resonance Research Centers. Thus, there are multiple opportunities for translational research.

Qualifications: PhD, MD or MD/PhD in neuroscience, neuroimaging, statistics, psychology, engineering or a related field is required. Previous experience working with neuroimaging and/or computational modeling is required. Fluency in Python, R or similar strongly preferred.

Compensation: The minimum starting salary for this position is $65,000 and fellows will be provided additional funding for discretionary research expenses, including travel.

Yale School of Medicine has an outstanding track record of mentoring national and international postdoctoral scholars from a wide variety of research and clinical backgrounds. Prior fellows in the Yale Imaging and Psychopharmacology Lab have all gone on to either competitive faculty or industry positions upon completion of their postdoc.

The Yale Imaging and Psychopharmacology Lab is committed to cultivating an inclusive and collaborative multidisciplinary environment. We encourage applications from scholars committed to our mission to build a thriving, collaborative, diverse, and inclusive research community.
