Job Description | The Kellogg Institute for International Studies , part of the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, is seeking two postdoctoral researchers as part of the university’s Democracy Initiative for the academic year 2024-2025. Individuals selected for a postdoctoral position will have the option of renewing their appointment for a second year, conditional on satisfactory performance. A successful postdoctoral candidate will have a Ph.D. in Political Science, Economics, Sociology, or a closely related field conferred by June 30th, 2024, will focus on the study of democracy, and will have a comparative research agenda preferably addressing questions of democratic erosion, democratic resilience, and strategies to protect democracy. Review of applications will begin on April 15, 2024. This position is located in South Bend, Indiana. Reasonable moving expenses will be covered. In addition to carrying out independent research, this position will assist in the administration, analysis, and dissemination of the work on democracy conducted at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. The individuals selected for this position can expect to devote approximately 50% of their time to activities related to research assistantship and collaboration with the Kellogg Institute, and 50% of their time to independent research. They will have the opportunity to attend and present at the Kellogg Work In Progress Seminars, will have dedicated office space, and will be part of a cohort of visiting fellows and guest researchers. In addition, the position includes $5,000 per year in research funds.
