The Department of Pathology at Columbia University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work in the lab of Dr. Lorraine Clark. The research will focus on Essential Tremor and neurodegenerative disease. This position will involve analysis of human NextGen Sequence data (exomes, whole genomes, RNA-seq) for NIH funded study of neurodegenerative disease in families with Essential Tremor using state of the art statistical methods.
However, candidates with strong research training in other fields/related fields are also welcome to apply.
|Physicians and Surgeons, College of|
|Ph.D. / M.D.|
|PhD degree in human genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology or statistical genetics, or in similar field of study.|
|Programming skills in Unix shell scripting and R, Perl, Python or similar a bonus. Experience in NGS data analysis, exposure to exome and RNA-seq data, prior experience with a molecular biology and human and molecular genetics research is a major plus. Familiarity with the tools for network analysis and genome/transcriptome/epigenome interpretation. Familiarity with the statistical principles and methods relevant to computational genomics. Exposure to disease association studies, population genetics and/or functional genomics.|
