Johns Hopkins University, in collaboration with the Space Telescope Science Institute, invite applications for a highly motivated individual to carry out postdoctoral research on topics related to galaxy evolution, quenching and AGN. The focus of the project is to understand the processes which drive the shutdown of star formation in galaxies using photometric and spectroscopic data from ground-based and space-based observatories (e.g. HST, SOFIA, Chandra, JWST, Herschel, Spitzer, UKIRT, VLT).

The successful applicant will have the option to work with and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, if desired. The candidate will benefit from the highly collaborative environment between JHU and STScI, which hosts numerous journal clubs and colloquia, and offers opportunities for collaboration with other research groups and mentoring. This is a three-year appointment, with the possibility of extension contingent upon available funding and performance. The position is available immediately, with a preferred start date before August 2023.
