Description

The Biodesign Center for Immunotherapy, Vaccines, and Virotherapy is searching for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar, whose primary focus will be research design and application. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will also be optimizing research strategies, assisting students, assigning lab duties, and mentoring students.

Essential duties include:

  • Will design and perform studies to characterize cellular responses to viral infection, so must have related research experience;
  • Will work with viruses and molecular biology assays;
  • Will provide guidance to graduate students.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A completed doctorate or equivalent degree in microbiology, vaccinology, virology, or a related field within the last five years.
  • Must be eligible for a smallpox vaccination

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with animal research.
  • Experience training/teaching undergrads and graduate students;
  • Experience with poxviruses;
  • Evidence of peer reviewed publications in relevant field;
  • Highly desirable qualifications include evidence of being self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, team-compatible, and possessing excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
