Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Maryland Baltimore

Position Overview

Dr. Jung Soo Suk’s Lab at the Department of Neurosurgery and Medicine Institute for Neuroscience Discovery (UM-MIND) at University of Maryland Baltimore (School of Medicine) is currently seeking a qualified Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead multiple research projects on development and preclinical evaluation of therapeutic delivery platforms based on synthetic materials (e.g. , polymers and lipid) for treating numerous diseases, primarily those affecting the brain. The successful candidate will possess the experimental skills described below, excellent experience in processing and interpreting data, and composing scientific manuscripts. Additionally, it is required to demonstrate the ability to work with collaborative teams of diverse research backgrounds, skills, and perspectives.

Qualifications

 

Required skills

Organic chemistry, polymer synthesis, nanoparticle formulation (e.g ., lipid nanoparticles), and relevant analysis methodologies

Preferred skills

Eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell culture, molecular biology assays (PCR, Western blot, IHC, Flowcytometry), fluorescence microscopy, in vivo animal experiments, and mentoring graduate students
