| Position Summary | The Department of Oral Pathology, Medicine and Radiology at the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) is seeking qualified applicants for a postdoctoral research fellow position. Our Salivary Diagnostics Laboratory at the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) has an immediate opening for a highly motivated individual to participate in biomarker discovery and identification in autoimmune diseases. A predominant goal of the research program is to identify biomarkers for early identification of Sjogren’s disease, a complex autoimmune disease with a multi-year clinicopathological course. In addition to working in our salivary analysis and diagnostics research laboratory, the selected candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of investigators in health informatics, clinical and basic research, oral medicine and “omics” cores. The position will entail a 90% research focus, with the remaining 10% dedicated to education and training of students. The initial appointment will be for one year starting on or about June 1, 2024, with potential for renewal. Duties and Responsibilities: Processing of saliva for proteomics and molecular analysis, initially with supervision and then progressively towards independent work. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to (1) have excellent communication/writing skills in English, (2) be a team player who appreciates working closely and collaboratively with others in the group, and (3) collaborate in various translational research related projects and participate in writing grants and manuscripts.
