Postdoctoral Research Fellow-Biomedical Sciences (MZ)

A postdoctoral scholar "postdoc" is an individual holding a doctoral degree who is engaged in a temporary and defined period, typically less than 5 years, of mentored research and/or advanced scholarly training for the purpose of acquiring the professional skills needed to pursue a career path of his/her choosing. Performs research under the supervision and mentorship of a more senior researcher, often called the postdoctoral advisor.

Ideal candidate has basic science research experience as it will be required; experience in inner ear biology, cochlea microdissection and audiometric measurements is preferable; and experience using zebrafish as a model for hair cell development is a plus.

This position is 100% grant funded.

This role will work Monday to Friday; 8am-4:30pm; depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.  

Qualifications:
Doctorate Degree
1-3 years' experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Prior experience in inner ear biology, cochlea microdissection and audiometric measurements is preferable;
Prior experience using zebrafish as a model for hair cell development is a plus;
Strong ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;
Strong work ethic;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work independently;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
