Position Summary

This position is funded by an FDA grant to study the chemical composition of aerosols generated by electronic cigarettes(e-cigs). E-cig aerosol components will be studied from atomization of pure e-liquids and aerosolization of these liquids by an actual e-cig device. Chemical characterization will be conducted by an Aerosol Chemical Speciaiation Monitor (ACSM) and hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography coupled to an electrospray ionization high-resolution quadropole time-of-flight mass spectrometer (HILIC/ESI-HR-QTOFMS).

Educational Requirements

The candidate should have a PhD in environmental sciences and technology, chemistry, or a related field of science.

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must be experienced with aerosol studies, including the generation and chemical characterization of such particles.

Preferred qualifications include, having a working knowledge of the ACSM and HILIC/ESI-HR-QTOFMS methods needed to complete this project.
