The faculty from the grant entitled Bridging the Gap Between Research and Practice seek one qualified candidate for a one-year, postdoctoral training fellowship. The program is a collaborative between the Colleges of Education and Medicine and is funded by the US Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services. The postdoctoral program provides an opportunity for one of the graduates from the grant to participate in a program of study linked directly to on-going research activities, supported by individualized learning opportunities including potentially advanced statistical and methodological training, and culminating in individualized programs of applied academic and/or social behavior research. The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate with scientists across both colleges to acquire advanced applied research competencies by working on current and future research programs in the areas of the candidate’s interest. The applicant must work closely with a primary mentor, from the three participating academic programs at UNC-CH, whose research interests align well with the fellow’s. The postdoctoral fellow will be provided with a $53,076. salary (plus benefits, $ 5,037), health insurance ($4,808.76), and travel expenses ($800) to support their work.
Qualified applicants must have a completed Ph.D. with a major emphasis in special education, occupational science, or speech and hearing sciences by August 15, 2021 (or at the latest December 15, 2021).
