Position Summary
Postdoctoral Research Associate Advertisement – The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, University of Nebraska Medical Center (Omaha), is seeking postdoctoral research associates to join the Pulmonary Research Group. Areas of research involve the pathophysiology of muco-obstructive disease with an emphasis on chronic and inflammatory lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis, asthma and COPD. Respiratory pathogen infections in the context of environmental and occupational exposures are existing focus areas. Using pharmacological and mouse genetic approaches, studies are carried out in animal and cell culture models. Successful candidates will be involved with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, presentation of data at national meetings, manuscript preparation, grant writing, and collaboration with faculty in ongoing and planned research associated with R01 NIH grant awarded to Dr. John Dickinson. Active grant is funded through 03/31/2026. A new R01 submission is expected to be submitted in June 2024. Areas of research involve the pathophysiology of lung disease with an emphasis on chronic and inflammatory lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis and COPD. Respiratory pathogen infections in the context of environmental and occupational exposures are existing focus areas. We provide mentor-based training with experienced, funded, research faculty, up to 2 years of NIH-level postdoctoral stipend, and health insurance coverage. U.S. Citizenship or a noncitizen national of the United States (or permanent resident) preferred. Candidates must have completed doctoral degree (M.D. and/or PhD) requirements prior to appointment to this fellowship.
