Position Qualification


Position Summary
Seeking a postdoctoral research associate to do research and scholarly activities related to virology and immunology of emerging infectious diseases including HIV and SARS-CoV-2. Specially focused on developing immunotherapy and to develop antivirals. The incumbent will perform experiments, analyze data, write scientific manuscripts and present in scientific meetings. Hands on experience in small and large animal handling and bioinformatics approaches will be preferred. Extensive experience in molecular biology, immunology, and virology including working experience in BSL2, BSL3 and ABSL2 and ABSL3 labs with bioinformatics preferred. Research interests include animal models as synergetic platform for preclinical development of vaccines/therapeutics/immunotherapy and immunological aspects of the diseases. A self-starter with strong interest in understanding virologic/immunological aspects of the HIV/SIV/SARS and other emerging new viruses inducing neurodegenerative phenotypes is preferred. Experience in generation and characterization of CAR T cells is preferred.
Required Qualifications
M.D. and/or Ph.D. in scientific field (preferably Virology/Immunology)
Supplemental Qualifications
A self-starter with strong interest in understanding virologic/immunological aspects of the HIV/SIV/SARS and other emerging new viruses inducing neurodegenerative phenotypes is preferred.
Experience in generation and characterization of CAR T cells is preferred.
Experience in working with animals and informatics/data science. Must show evidence in strong expertise in virologic/immunological techniques and published in peer review journals required.
