Position Qualification

Position Summary
The Brahma Lab is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with a strong interest in chromatin biology to join our team. We have fully funded positions available immediately for both wet-lab and computational biologists to obtain postdoctoral training in the broad areas of chromatin dynamics and transcription regulation.
Our lab is dedicated to understanding how the landscape of genomic nucleosomes and genome access is regulated in both normal cellular development and cancer. A major focus is on elucidating the mechanisms of ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling and unraveling the intricate interplay between chromatin remodelers and transcription factors in regulating chromatin structure and gene expression. We have several ongoing projects aimed at solving the chromatin structure of genes at distinct stages of transcription, determining how ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling modifies chromatin structure and modulates the interaction of transcription factors with chromatin, and identifying how defective chromatin remodelers drive disease gene expression patterns. To achieve our research objectives, we take a highly interdisciplinary approach utilizing cutting-edge techniques in structural and functional epigenomics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, and microscopy.
Required Qualifications
PhD or MD/PhD degree in the fields of Genomics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cancer Biology, or a related discipline.
Supplemental Qualifications
The candidate should have evidence of prior productive scientific work in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Previous working experience with chromatin biology and epigenetics/epigenomics research, next-generation sequencing technologies, and bioinformatics is preferred but not compulsory.
