What we want

Texas A&M Health is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Texas A&M School of Public Health, Department of Health Behavior. The successful applicant will assist Dr. Lei-Shih Chen with coordinating social and behavioral research projects. This role will assist in various tasks, including literature review, study design, survey development, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, training program development, manuscripts/reports writing, student supervision, and will work with Dr. Chen for coordinating and managing relevant projects as well as other duties as assigned. This individual must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Position details: This position(s) is supported by external research funding and reappointment will be subject to continuation of these funds.

Required Education:

  • Appropriate doctoral degree

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection, management, and analysis skills

  • Excellent scientific writing skills

  • Excellent computer abilities and language skills in English

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to work as a team player

  • Being detailed-oriented and patient

  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently and have good time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • PhD. in public health, health education, special education, psychology, sociology, anthropology or related fields

  • Experience in grant management and having prior work experience in grant-funded projects

  • Published at least two peer-reviewed articles

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating Social and Behavioral Research Projects - Design research studies. Develop surveys and training programs. Collect quantitative and qualitative data. Perform literature reviews. Assist Dr. Chen with managing these projects, including supervising students.

  • Data Analysis - Analyze large quantitative and qualitative datasets using structural equation modeling.

  • Reporting - Provide assistance with the preparation of project-related reports and manuscripts and performs other duties as assigned.
