The School of Dentistry is looking for an Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve in the Orthodontics department.  We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. What you need to know  


Salary Range: Commensurate based on selected hire's qualifications


Work Schedule/Location: This is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.

Required Education:


  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Expertise using computer software for data analysis.

Preferred Education:

  • PhD in the field of biology

Preferred Experience:

  • In vivo/In vitro experiment experience in bone/cell biology.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.

  • Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

  • Experience working with individuals and communities with different perspectives, talents and lived experiences.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Make solutions, clean glassware, autoclave, order supplies, maintain laboratory notebook, conduct data mining.

  • Nucleic Acids: Southern/Northern blotting, in situ hybridization, protection assays/PCR, sequencing

  • Proteins, Immunology: chromatography, immunohistochemistry, Western blot/electrophoresis, second messenger signaling essays.

  • RNA/DNA extraction, single-cell sequence, RNA sequence.

  • Organ culture/Microscopy: maintenance/manipulations of organ cultures, micro-dissection of tissues, fluorescence/confocal/electron microscopy, image analysis/photography, histological preparation of tissues.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
